Pastor Karen was born and raised in Hampden until the age of 6.  Her family then relocated to the suburbs in Parkville/Carney area.  Married for almost 25 years to Paul A. Lovelace, who was from the “other side of the tracks” in Dulaney Valley.  She has relatives living at every exit of the Baltimore Beltway.

Karen has a daughter from a previous marriage, Meghan Marie Hoopes, who is 31 and lives with her partner Nikolas in Ellicott City.  Paul and Karen have a son, Timothy Peter, 22, who lives in Ashburn, VA near Dulles Airport.  

For 32 years, Karen was employed at various banks in different capacities:  Maryland National, Union Trust, Equitable Bank, MNC Financial, MBNA (Delaware), First Union (North Carolina) and Susquehanna Bank (Pennsylvania).  She has served as a documentation specialist, payroll supervisor and project manager, among other duties.
